Southern Maine's transit agencies are committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
We know that accessible transit is essential to ensuring that all community members have equal opportunity to take part in community life.

Our buses, trains, and ferries have passenger lifts or ramps that can be used by those with wheelchairs, walkers, and mobility aids.

Paratransit
In addition to fixed-route services, RTP Lines provides an equivalent accessible option to people who are unable to use the fixed-route bus services of METRO or South Portland Bus Service because of disability.

York County CAP's services include both public transportation and contracted/special service transport.

The Mobility for All program engages a broad range of community members and organizations in improving transportation access for people who experience barriers.

The Moving Maine newsletter is a source for news and updates on inclusive transit. The Moving Maine Network is convened by the Greater Portland Council of Governments, Maine Department of Transportation, Maine Primary Care Association, and Maine Housing. Funding is provided through a Federal Transit Administration grant.
